Our client is one of the largest well known gym, leisure and fitness businesses in the UK numbering hundreds of locations located across the UK including Northern Ireland and ranging in size.

Protest were recommended to this client after we carried out some emergency repair works to a leisure centre located close to our UK headquarters in Northampton. After seeking out our business on the internet they were desperately needing help as the power had failed in the swimming pool and gym areas whilst public classes were taking place.
Protest duly responded straight away and had engineers on site within 2 hours, the fault was diagnosed immediately, new parts were installed and the swimming pool and gym areas were returned to normal use immediately. The site manager was so impressed with Protest that he recommended us to their head office explaining our quick response and how we had helped them in the emergency situation. We were contacted shortly after by their head office and were invited to meet with them about emergency responses as they were having serious problems throughout the UK with getting engineers to site quickly to deal with call outs for electrical faults. During the meeting and presentation it was explained to the client about the other electrical compliance services and fire safety services that we offer. Framework prices for statutory compliance services and emergency response call outs were then agreed following the meeting.

Approach and methodology
Our multi skilled engineers deliver services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, this flexibility allows our engineers to work in and around the clients sites thus causing minimal disruption. Strict KPI’s were put in place and always adhered to, this ensures a quick turnaround of reports and remedial quotations to enable the client to constantly be in control of demonstrating their compliance and meeting their strict PPM attendance schedules.
Electrical Compliance challenges presented
• Achieve compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 with a defined structured PPM
• Emergency response protocols for electrical faults put in place
• Achieve compliance with the latest fire safety regulations
• Ensure that any potential health and safety issues are quickly addressed and highlighted
• All remedial and installation project works are conducted in a timely manner
• Collation of all electrical documents for the whole site are safely held electronically in one place
• Paperless reporting that can be held and viewed at all times securely online

Resulting outcome
Following the successful trial period Protest were then awarded many hundreds of leisure centres on a five year rolling project basis. The client and dutyholder(s) were able to clearly demonstrate compliance within the latest regulations along with satisfying the insurance companies recommendations. Remedial actions identified during the PPM programmes were then separately project managed and corrected in a timely manner whilst causing least disruption to the client.
